Once you have chosen a studio you like, make a point to meet the engineer . This is the guy who will determine your recorded sound so make sure you agree on what you want.    Most engineers are highly professional and experienced in many different styles of music so just let them know what you want.    It is also a wise idea to bring in some samples of the style of production you are looking for. This is usually just a couple of cd's of bands whose sound you like .    Next month I will discuss prepping for the studio .... Good luck and remember..... if it ain't fun, you're doing something wrong! Thomas Smead
